Each determination is bound to:
a named dataset
a fixed extract date
a defined use
The output is explicit:
Suitable
Not suitable
Suitable only if conditions are met
Each dataset is examined against its ability to hold under use.
We assess:
structural integrity
completeness
field alignment
behaviour under the stated use
The focus is not whether the data exists, but whether it remains valid when used.
Determinations are not permanent.
They are invalidated when the underlying inputs change.
Common invalidation triggers include:
new or modified data
schema changes
field remapping
updated extraction logic
If the inputs change, the determination no longer applies.
Most datasets are assumed to be reliable.
They are rarely tested under the conditions they are used in.
This leads to decisions being made on data that appears correct, but does not hold under scrutiny.
